FINDLAY, Ohio - The Wayne State volleyball team closed its 2007 season with a 3-0 setback at Findlay on Saturday afternoon, falling by scores of 30-27, 30-16, and 30-18.
Junior Kim Gear (Watervliet, Mich.) had seven kills and five blocks for Wayne State, while senior Karri Kuczajda (Waterford, Mich./Chelsea) chipped in six kills and two blocks in her final match at WSU.
Juniors Mayssa Bazzi (Dearborn, Mich.) and Marcie Hill (Dearborn, Mich.) totaled 13 and nine digs, respectively, and freshman Katy Westenberg (Milford, Mich.) had 22 assists.
The Warriors finished with a 10-15 overall record and a 5-12 mark in the GLIAC, while the Oilers went 19-13 and 8-9 in the conference, clinching third place in the South Division and a playoff berth.
