DETROIT - The Wayne State University volleyball team (7-5, 2-2 GLIAC) evened its conference record with a 3-1 victory over the University of Findlay (7-7, 1-3 GLIAC) on Friday night at the Matthaei.

Three Warriors posted double-digit kill totals and hitting percentages over .300, including Sarha Gosselin (Harrison Twp., Mich./Warren Lincoln) who notched a double-double with 13 kills and 10 digs. Wayne State led wire-to-wire in the first set, a 25-20 result in favor of the home team, but Findlay won seven of the first nine points in the second set to take an early 7-2 lead and force WSU to take a timeout.

The Warriors battled back and held a 23-20 lead until a four-point Oiler run made it 24-23. With the score tied at 26 apiece, two costly WSU attack errors gave Findlay the set, 28-26.

After trailing by as many as five points in the third, Wayne State battled back to a 27-25 victory. The Warriors never trailed in the fourth, winning 25-19 to take the match.

Mayssa Bazzi's (Dearborn, Mich.) season-high 23 digs led all players in the match. Katy Westenberg (Milford, Mich.) had 39 assists and six digs, while Ashley Penny (New Hudson, Mich./South Lyon) chipped in four blocks and three kills.
