Florence, S.C. - The Wayne State University volleyball team (2-2 overall) concluded play in the 2007 Francis Marion Invitational with a 3-0 setback against West Georgia, 30-19, 30-24, and 30-26.

Junior Kim Gear (Watervliet, Mich.), senior Karri Kuczajda (Waterford, Mich./Chelsea), sophomore Meg Leone (Troy, Mich.) and freshman Maureen MacDonald (White Lake, Mich./Marian) each had five kills.

McDonald had a .385 attack percentage while Gear was at .263. Senior Mary Leverentz (Three Rivers, Mich.) compiled a .444 hitting percentage.

Junior Mayssa Bazzi (Dearborn, Mich.) had 22 digs and four service aces to earn FMU All-Tournament honors (see complete listing below).

The Warriors travel to Charleston, W.Va., next weekend for four matches prior to the start of the GLIAC season on Sept. 14 at home versus Saginaw Valley.
