The Wayne State women's tennis team dropped its first match of the spring season falling 7-2 in a non-conference to St. Cloud State.
WSU fell behind early as St. Cloud took all three doubles matches to go up 3-0.
Singles play would prove no different as the Warriors dropped four of six matches. Freshmen Sharon Gill (Windsor, Ont./Academie Ste. Cecile) defeated Dawn Olsen 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 1 slot while junior Sargam Bhatt (Canton, Mich.-Taylor Truman) took out Samantha Boushek in three sets, 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-4) at the No.6 position giving WSU its only two points of the match.
WSU continues its spring break Florida road trip with a non-conference dual match against Bentley on Sunday, March 9.
