Women's Basketball Home Opener On Tuesday

The Wayne State University women's basketball squad (0-2 overall) will have its home opener on Tuesday, November 21st at 5:30 p.m. against the Central State University Marauders (1-1).

The Warriors lost both games at the 2006 UMR Classic hosted by Missouri-Rolla last weekend. WSU fell to the host Lady Miners, 70-54, on Friday as four Warriors reached double figures led by Joy Nash's 13 points. Cherita Smith, Chastidy Miller and Brittany White each poured in 10 points.

The following afternoon Wayne State dropped a 75-63 decision to #7-ranked Henderson State. Nicole Rogers had a game-high 19 points while both Miller and White added 10 points.

The home opener begins a stretch of four home games in a five-game span with the lone road contest coming this Saturday at Northern Kentucky (1:00 p.m.).

WSU begins GLIAC play next week with two home matches -- November 30th versus Gannon (5:30 p.m.) and December 2nd against Mercyhurst (1:00 p.m.).
