Following a second-place finish at the 2007 NCAA Great Lakes Regional cross country by both Wayne State University cross country squads, both teams are ranked second in the region by the USTFCCA.
Both Warrior cross country squads have qualified for the NCAA Championship meet which will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17 in Joplin, Mo.
This will be the fifth consecutive year the WSU men's team has run at the NCAA Championship meet and sixth time in the last seven seasons.
This marks the third NCAA Championship meet appearance for the women's team with the two prior appearances coming in 2002 and 2003. Junior Rachelle Malette (Windsor, Ont./Holy Names) ran as an individual in 2006 and placed 14th to earn All-America honors.
