Wayne State University junior Dan Kapadia (Canton, Mich./Salem) has been selected Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

He was the first of all Division II and NAIA competitors to cross the finish line at Bowling Green State University's Mel Brodt Invitational last Saturday. Kapadia ran the eight kilometer race in a time of 26:14.70, over 90 seconds faster than his 2006 meet time and an average of 5:16.8 per mile. His performance, which was third-best overall among runners in all divisions, helped the Warriors match Ashland's team total of 60 points, which tied for first among all DII/NAIA schools.

WSU will be running this Saturday in the Iona Meet of Champions.
