Four members of the 2007 Wayne State men's cross country team were named to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) All-Academic team. The Warriors placed second at both the league championship and NCAA Great Lakes Regional, and 19th at the NCAA Championship.

To be eligible for GLIAC All-Academic status, a student athlete must have: a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or greater (on a 4.0 scale); must be a starter or key reserve; and must not be a freshman or first-year transfer.

Selected to the GLIAC All-Academic team were seniors Kevin Christensen (Battle Creek, Mich,/Pennfield) and Dave Lucas (Dearborn, Mich./Detroit Catholic Central), redshirt junior Abdullah Saleh (Dearborn, Mich./Fordson) and sophomore Vince Bechard (Dearborn, Mich./Divine Child).

Christensen and Lucas were honored for the third time in their careers, while Saleh and Bechard are first-time recipients.

Seven of WSU's 13 letterwinners this year were in their first year at the school and thus ineligible for academic team honors.
