Former Wayne State University golfers Ryan Johnson (New Boston, Mich./Huron) and Brett Hudson (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Orchard Lake St. Mary's) competed at the 91st Annual Michigan Open, held June 9-12 at Grand Traverse Resort in Acme, Mich.

Johnson shot 304 (76-70-74-84) to tie for 67th, while Hudson finished in a tie for 78th (71-77-78-82--308).

Redshirt junior Joe Juszczyk (Dearborn Heights, Mich./Divine Child) and sophomore Eric Johnson (Marquette, Mich.) qualified for the event but did not make the cut.

Tom Gillis, a 39-year old former PGA Tour player from Oxford, won the Michigan Open, which is conducted by the Michigan Section of the Professional Golfers Association of America.
