CANTON, Mich. - After being rained out Sunday, the Wayne State University golf team hosted the 36-hole Motor City Invitational at Pheasant Run on Monday and finished in second place (288-291--579), six strokes behind Davenport University (288-285--573).

Steve Cuzzort (Grosse Ile, Mich.) was one stroke off the lead (70-71--141) and placed second behind Davenport's Kevin Palmer. Cuzzort made par on 23 holes and collected eight birdies. Joe Juszczyk (Dearborn Heights, Mich./Divine Child) came in third with a score of 144 (70-74).

Hagan Risner (Garden City, Mich.) tied for seventh (73-74--147), Michael Wouters (Sterling Hts., Mich./Henry Ford II) tied for 10th (75-73--148), and Chad Johnson (Plymouth, Mich./Canton) finished 15th (78-73--151).

Playing individually, David Anderson (Sarnia, Ont./St. Clair Secondary) shot 152 (80-72) to tie for 16th, and Kyle Stefan came in tied-for-23rd with 159 (77-82).

The Warriors will play in the first of three Great Lakes Regional events this Sunday and Monday, Sept. 21-22, at HawksHead in South Haven.
