The Mega 80's will be playing a pre-game set as well as performing the halftime show at this Saturday's Warrior football home opener. Kickoff is slated for noon at Wayne State's Adams Field. Tickets for the concert and game are only $5.00 and available by calling 313-993-4347.

The Mega 80's sprung onto the Detroit music scene and have not looked back. Their mix of accurately replicated sounds of the 80's era, their expansive play list and retro style has made them a dominating force in Detroit entertainment.

The success of the Mega 80's has included playing at the Palace of Auburn Hills, being highlighted on Mitch Albom and Fox 2 News, and even voted "best cover band" by Real Detroit readers in the "Best of" issue 2003 and 2005. This year the Mega 80's will be adding even more elements to their production.

The band features some of the greatest players in the Detroit area. Drummer Jason Gittinger is a musician that can do anything. Jason's talent has been spotlighted many times, such as: TV specials with Kevin Bacon at the Fox Theater, recording international advertising campaigns for companies such as Cadillac, as well as extensive European tours with local and national acts. Guitarist Mick Khzouz, an accomplished musician that can play just about any guitar style, loves the positivity that the 80's era has brought back. Ron Abraham, keyboardist for the band, has played keyboards in many different bands and has toured the world doing so. He now has found a permanent home in the land of the Mega 80's. Ron's hip stage demeanor and excellent vocal ability make him the perfect Mega 80. Takashi Iio is a respected jazz bassist. He compliments the Mega 80's musically and comically. With his fresh dance moves and big smile, audiences love Takashi's on stage antics.

Lead vocalist for the Mega 80's, Carey Denha, has been the vocalist of Going Public, a Michigan State band he played in when he attended the university in the 90's, as well as the original Michigan M'80's band. Carey has now embarked upon managing other high end production bands like the Mega 80's in his new venture, Tangerine Moon Productions. So far, Tangerine Moon Productions has brought into the musical fold two other great shows, The Spirit of '76 (a multimedia 70's rock tribute), and Boogie Dynomite (a multimedia disco tribute). Tangerine Moon Productions will also be bringing other high end Las Vegas type acts to Detroit as well. Look for the X-Generation (90's tribute band), and La Dolce Vita, the Tangerine Moon flagship corporate/ wedding band. Also in the works is a female fronted 80's project as well as a high energy dance band called Old Skool. These premier bands like all other Tangerine Moon Productions are now sponsored by Real Detroit Weekly. Carey still owns and operates his DJ company, Jammin DJ's and enjoys DJ'ing in his spare time.

With all of the continued improvements to the show, from adding dancers, video elements and a spectacular light show, the Mega 80's production will soon be hitting the national scene performing in Florida and Las Vegas. From the banks of the Red Cedar at Michigan State University to the Palace of Auburn Hills, Mich., fans agree that the Mega 80's put on a show like no one else!
