Wayne State University fencer Michal Brichacek (Windsor, Ont./St. Joseph's) has been voted to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District IV University Division Men's At-Large Second Team.
Brichacek was in the University Division, which consists of Division I student-athletes, because WSU competes in Division I in fencing.
The District IV Academic team was selected by members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) located in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama.
The At-Large team represents athletes from the following men's sports: golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.
Brichacek had a 3.98 cumulative grade-point average in chemistry through his first five semesters at Wayne State.
