DETROIT - WSU junior pitcher Anthony Bass (Trenton, Mich.) was named to the Division II All-America Third Team by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

This is the second All-America accolade for Bass this season, as he was named to the Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association All-America First Team last week.

Bass has accumulated several accolades in 2008, including Rawlings/ABCA All-Region Pitcher of the Year and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year. He was also selected to the Daktronics, Inc. All-Region First Team and voted WSU's Most Valuable Player.

He led the GLIAC and ranked 15th in the nation in wins (10) and strikeouts (100). Bass also topped the conference with a 2.10 earned run average and a .209 opposing batting average.
