Rick Renaud has been an equipment manager in the Wayne State University athletic department for over 17 years. His father, Walter "Wally" Renaud, was the WSU football equipment manager for 26 years (1962-1988).

Renaud first started working for WSU when he was in junior high serving as a ball boy for Tartar football games and helping his dad in the equipment room.

While attending WSU, he took a student assistant position with the athletic/facility department helping with the set up and break down at athletic contests.

He earned a bachelor's degree in business from WSU and is the longest serving equipment manager on staff. Renaud currently works with the fencing, golf, swimming and volleyball squads.

He has one son, Richard "Ricky" Walter Renaud II, and resides in Utica.
